Maintenance Technician: 2nd Shift

RESPONSIBILITIES

Referring to and following manufacturing process instructions (MPIs), technical manuals, visual aids:

 As regards Production Equipment:

  • Support production line equipment to ensure maximum uptime and rapid recovery from any downtime events associated with tooling, equipment or controls.  Repair and maintain wide variety of plant machinery and equipment.
  •  Set up, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and operate various automated, variable and medium speed (hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical) equipment and conveyorized lines, making permissible adjustments and allowances to maintain quality standards and meet requirements
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) duties based on schedules. Utilize and maintain computer maintenance system (CMS) to document work orders, repairs, CMS and inventory control (critical parts).  Execute equipment inspections, repair and PM’s in accordance with CMS system and equipment supplier recommendations.
  • Assemble and/or disassemble machine tooling – inspecting, cleaning, repairing.
  • Complete all log sheets manually and /or enter required information into CMS system.
  • Report daily and /or weekly on outstanding equipment issues as directed; track and report outages.
  • Fabricates and/or modifies new and existing equipment; assists with installation and debugging of production, buildings and grounds, environmental and safety equipment; work with equipment suppliers’ field service staff on installations, upgrades.

As regards Plant/Facilities Equipment:

  • Troubleshoot issues and repair failures in facilities equipment to include but not limited to minor HVAC (filter, belt replacement), sheet rock/wall repairs, painting, repairing and adjusting janitorial equipment.

Other:

  • Assists to track critical spare parts stocking; makes recommendations for parts ordering; completes and submits requisitions to Supervisor to effect purchasing.
  • Upon completion of appropriate training, provides support in collecting, handling, securing, transporting and loading of hazardous waste materials in facility.
  • Assists in writing procedures and keeping these complete and current.
  • Interface with other professional staff and management to troubleshoot equipment or malfunctions, quality issues or process changes.
  • Complete all required training, either on site or at equipment supplier’s site.

  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
