Position Summary

ICM Controls is hiring a Junior Buyer to manage supply sources and act upon material requirements by negotiating pricing and delivery while ensuring a positive supplier relationship.  You will manage material delivery receipts to ensure proper inventory levels and payments to suppliers.  Actively evolve processes and procedures associated with material acquisition and inventory control to support the company’s profitability goals.  This role will serve as a key contributor to improving operational efficiencies and supporting the ongoing management of the ICM Controls supply base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase new material requirements with approved suppliers as required in the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for assigned commodities.
  • Place orders to fulfill material requisitions from cross functional departments.
  • Maintain and manage Supply Chain master data in the management information system.
  • Audit, maintain, and continuously improve procurement data analytics to support data-driven decision making, areas for improvements, and potential early risk detection.
  • Coordinate immediate invoice resolution on any discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of assigned commodities to maximize inventory turn goals.
  • Follow up on delivery commitments from suppliers providing status to internal stakeholders.
  • Expedite/escalate material deliveries for production shortages or schedule changes.
  • Identify process improvements to strengthen weak links in the supply chain paths.
  • Establish supplier and internal relationships through collaboration, respect, professionalism, trust and integrity.
  • Facilitate RFQ’s and analyze/summarize prices quotes to assist senior team members in negotiating pricing and terms to support cost saving initiatives.

  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred.  Associate’s degree w/ 2+ years of planning or procurement experience or equivalent work experience considered.
  • CPSM/APICS certification preferred.

Experience & Skills:

  • 1-2 years in a production environment, preferably in the electro-mechanical manufacturing industry. Internships in a production environment considered for recent graduates.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain processes and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Excellent communication, computer and analytical skills with a focused ability of problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, managing multiple coinciding tasks/requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience using/creating Data visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI)
  • The ability to work well under pressure.

 

 

Working Conditions

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Exempt / Permanent).
  • Travel: Limited.
  • Environment: Primarily office-based
